Brewer is a city in Penobscot County, Maine, United States.It is part of the Bangor metropolitan area. The city is named after its first settler, Colonel John Brewer. [4] The population was 9,672 at the 2020 census.
The first Chinese restaurant opened in 1880 at 1 Custom House Wharf. At the time, the city had nine Chinese men. [3] The community celebrated their first Moon Festival on October 8, 1884. [3] Most Chinese men who lived in Chinatown attended the Chinese Sunday School opened by the Second Parish Presbyterian Church in 1888.

Hampden is crossed by Interstate 95, U.S. Route 1A and U.S. Route 202, as well as Maine State Route 9 and Maine State Route 69. It is bordered by the towns of Winterport to the south, Newburgh to the west, Hermon to the north, Bangor to the northeast, and (separated by the Penobscot River) Brewer to the northeast and Orrington to the east.
