Pennsylvania Route 969 (PA 969) is a 10.4-mile-long (16.7 km) state highway located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at U.S. Route 219 (US 219) in Greenwood Township. The eastern terminus is at PA 453 in Curwensville. The route is known locally as the Lumber City Highway.
PA 729 was first signed in 1930, but as a short route in Berks County, from PA 100 (Then PA 62) to PA 29. In the mid-1940s, the route was decommissioned, but in 1969, the route number was revived for its current location today. [citation needed] A very small portion of the current route was signed as PA 825 during the 1930s and early 1940s. [3] [4]

Between the county line and the village of Mahaffey, PA 36 mostly runs parallel on the eastern banks of the Chest Creek.
