SQLite (/ ˌ ɛ s ˌ k juː ˌ ɛ l ˈ aɪ t /, [4] [5] / ˈ s iː k w ə ˌ l aɪ t / [6]) is a free and open-source relational database engine written in the C programming language.It is not a standalone app; rather, it is a library that software developers embed in their apps.
Major DBMSs, including SQLite, [5] MySQL, [6] Oracle, [7] IBM Db2, [8] Microsoft SQL Server [9] and PostgreSQL [10] support prepared statements. Prepared statements are normally executed through a non-SQL binary protocol for efficiency and protection from SQL injection, but with some DBMSs such as MySQL prepared statements are also available using a SQL syntax for debugging purposes.
A placeholder can only store a value of the given type and not an arbitrary SQL fragment. Hence the SQL injection would simply be treated as a strange (and probably invalid) parameter value. In many cases, the SQL statement is fixed, and each parameter is a scalar, not a table. The user input is then assigned (bound) to a parameter. [20]
[1] [2] The interface of an object conforming to this pattern would include functions such as Insert, Update, and Delete, plus properties that correspond more or less directly to the columns in the underlying database table. The active record pattern is an approach to accessing data in a database. A database table or view is wrapped into a class.
A complete list of wrappers may be found on the main web site. [56] Howard Chu ported SQLite 3.7.7.1 to use LMDB instead of its original B-tree code, calling the result SQLightning. [57] One cited insert test of 1000 records was 20 times faster (than the original SQLite with its B-Tree implementation). [58]
Non-Shared Resources (NSR), which is optimised for sequential access. NSR access has historically been easier to use than LSR for batch programs. [12] Distributed File Management (DFM), an implementation of a Distributed Data Management Architecture server, enables programs on remote computers to create, manage, and access VSAM files.
An object–relational database (ORD), or object–relational database management system (ORDBMS), is a database management system (DBMS) similar to a relational database, but with an object-oriented database model: objects, classes and inheritance are directly supported in database schemas and in the query language.
