Situbondo Regency (Madurese: Kabhupatèn Situbânḍâ) is a regency (kabupaten) in the east of East Java province, Indonesia.It covers an area of 1,658.03 km 2, and had a population of 647,619 at the 2010 Census [2] and 685,967 at the 2020 Census; [3] the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 684,343 (comprising 334,698 males and 349,645 females). Besuki is a district (kecamatan) in Situbondo Regency, East Java, Indonesia with an area of 26.08 km 2. In 2004, its population was 57,109 people. In ancient time the city was important because it was the capital of the Residency of Besuki. During the Majapahit Kingdom, Besuki was already a growing area and was known by the name Keta.
