We are looking at cruising on the Carnival Splendor, and are looking for a cabin that has the least motion & least noise. Unfortunately, the only choices available are on decks 1, 2 & 8. On the remaining two decks (deck #1 and #8)--- deck #1 is the lowest passenger deck, and deck #8 is at somewhat a higher level.
Either Deck 1 or Deck 7 are the best. They are sandwiched between 2 decks with only cabins. If it isn't much more, I would just get an OV cabin on Deck 1. If you are conerned about motion, the best location is the middle followed by the reat of the ship. We stayed on the Riviera deck and loved it.
Tangalooma: booked Snorkel the Wrecks (power scooter) - booked pre cruise. This was a tender into the beach area on Carnival lifeboat/tenders. About 25 mins tender time. Enjoyed the excursion BUT did not realize there were time slots. Our trip was 9:30 and the cloud cover and conditions were pretty rough.
Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) We have had L-shaped cabins on Splendor - they are great! Had 7443 last year. The year before that had L-shaped 8457 on deck 8. Only problem with that cabin was that we heard chairs/lounges scrapping in the early morning. If you are a light sleeper, I would try to avoid that cabin.

Colorado. #7. Posted November 21, 2018. When my sister and I were on the Splendor, we adored the Cloud 9 spa. We actually found that it was cheaper to get a cloud 9 spa interior room than to buy the pass. We LOVED those rooms. The spa amenities are awesome and so worth it. Spent a lot of time in the T-pool.
Tulsa, OK. #4. Posted December 9, 2010. Another vote for Deck 7, midship. It's the ideal, central location for the entire ship. If motion sickness is a big concern for you, Deck 1-midship will be the best. If motion sickness is not a concern and Deck 7 is mostly sold out, the forward rooms on Decks 8 & 9 would be good.
We have been on 12 cruises since 2007, all with carnival, and just got off Splendor 4 weeks ago - The Splendor was by far our most favorite ship!! I have been on 20 cruises and the last one on Splendor was my fave too!!!We are actually breaking our rule about not repeating ships because the staff were awesome.
Those tips have included: ask for robes if they are not in the stateroom. If you drink soda, take a 12 pack on for each passenger or order 6 pack canned soda for your stateroom online from the Funshops ahead of time or from the onboard computer. get tickets early for Green Eggs and Ham breakfast if you plan to go.
We were on the Riviera deck, midship. It was quiet. Took a walk around the Riviera deck and noticed that the forward cabins were rockier than the aft cabins. On the Splendor, most of the cabins are under or over public rooms. For that reason, the Riviera and the Empress decks are good choices if you like to sleep in or go to bed early.
