The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) is the national Girl Scouting association for girls and young women in the Philippines.Its mission is "to help girls and young women realize the ideals of womanhood and prepare themselves for their responsibilities in the home, to the nation, and to the world community". Benitez was the Chairman of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Central Committee, while Josefa became the group's first National Executive. At the time of the charter, there were 1,000 Girl Scouts in the Philippines. [23]
In 1999, the first Venture Scout Jamboree was held on Ilian Hills, Iriga, Camarines Sur. In 2007, the BSP observed the world centennial of the Scout Movement.
