Webb Wildlife Management Area. white-tailed deer and Northern bobwhite populations continue to rise due to habitat management, and opportunities also exist to hunt mourning dove and feral hog. A shooting range is located close to the entrance and sees hundreds of visitors on the weekend.
It comprises 62,000 acres (25,000 ha) including parts of the Kissimmee Prairie. The area is open for recreational uses including hunting, fishing, hiking, and birding. Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area (WMA) preserves 24,243 acres of sandhill, mesic hammock, and forested wetland habitat ten miles north of Weeki Wachee in Hernando County, Florida. [1] The area consists of one large tract of land, with three satellite tracts nearby.
Among the wildlife of this 30,701-acre (124.24 km 2) wildlife management area (WMA) are song birds, wading birds and migratory waterfowl. The WMA is home to bald eagle, turkey, hawks, and owls, as well as white-tailed deer, bobcat, fox squirrel, and gray fox. Other animals that can be seen at the park are alligator, otter, and turtles.
