The season covered the period from 1 September 2020 to 30 June 2021. Brentford secured promotion to the Premier League on 29 May 2021, following a 2–0 victory against Swansea City in the play-off final at Wembley, confirming the club's top flight status for the first time in 74 years.

Ryan Joseph Trevitt (born 12 March 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL League One club Exeter City, on loan from Premier League club Brentford. Trevitt began his professional career with Brentford in 2021 and was promoted into the first team squad in 2023.
Onyeka signed for newly promoted Premier League side Brentford on 20 July 2021 for an undisclosed fee. [10] He made his competitive debut for the club on 13 August, the first matchday of the season, starting in a 2–0 victory against Arsenal; the Bees' first ever Premier League win.
