Silverton is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States.The city is situated along the 45th parallel about 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Salem, in the eastern margins of the broad alluvial plain of the Willamette Valley.

Outside of Woodburn, OR 214 is a two-lane country road. The next town of note heading south is Mount Angel, followed by Silverton. In Silverton, OR 214 intersects with OR 213, which heads north to Molalla and south (southwest) to Salem. OR 214 continues southeast from Silverton, now as the Silver Falls Highway.
From there the stream flows 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-northwest through Silver Creek Canyon and into the Silverton Reservoir. It continues out of the canyon from that point for 2.5 miles (4.0 km) and through the city of Silverton, running parallel to Oregon State Highway 214 until it veers due west at North Water Street in Silverton.

Howell Prairie is an area west of Silverton, Oregon, United States, between the Little Pudding River and the Pudding River. It was named for John Howell, a pioneer of 1843. [1] Howell Prairie post office was established in 1876 and closed in 1881. [1]
