The Sony BDP-S1 is a first generation Blu-ray Disc (BD) player and is the first such player released in North America. It was originally scheduled for release in the United States on August 18, 2006 with a MSRP of $999.95. Sony had postponed the release date of this player several times and it was released on December 4, 2006.
The player supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision high-dynamic-range standards. [5] The Dolby Vision support was added in a firmware update on June 6, 2017. [6] Unlike Oppo's BDP-103 and BDP-105, the UDP-203 doesn't support CDs encoded with HDCD.
The camera offers a fully automatic mode, several scene modes, and a manual mode which is more of an aperture priority mode. This gives the user control over the sharpness, flash strength, white balance, and exposure compensation. The shutter speed ranges from 1/1500 to 2 seconds. It can make videos in 320×240 or 640×480 sizes.
