Troy Joseph Thompson (formerly Birnbrauer; born c. 1971) is an Australian politician formerly served as mayor of Townsville, a local government area in Queensland, Australia. He was elected at the 2024 Townsville City Council election , defeating long-standing incumbent Jenny Hill .
