The Davao City National High School, first known as the Davao Provincial High School had its humble beginning in 1922. Housed in a Nipa hut at Magallanes Street, it opened its doors to 67 eager students with Mr. Dominador Fernandez as Officer-in-Charge and later by Mr. Adolfo Casolan as Principal with three teachers to help him guide the sixty seven (67) students who were enrolled at the time.
It is situated in Davao City, Philippines, and it is among the many specialized public high schools in the Philippines, along with other PSHSS Campuses. It caters to scientifically and mathematically gifted high school students from the Southern Mindanao region of the country. It is located in Barangay Sto. Niño, Tugbok District, Davao City.
In 1959, the school began offering Grades 1 to 4 classes in an academic building and student-teacher dormitory in Garcia Heights, Bajada. The first batch of 14 elementary pupils graduated in 1962. The school moved one step further by offering high school education in 1971. By 1973, the school was officially named Davao Christian High School.

There were only nine teachers to help him guide the 250 students from 1946 to 1967. Two years later, the name was changed to Digos Provincial High School.
