Recreational Road 255 (RE 255) is a 56.596 miles (91.082 km) Recreational Road located in Tyler, Jasper, and Newton counties, in southeastern Texas, United States. The highway travels through mainly rural areas in the northern portion of the three counties.
Tyler is a city in and the county seat of Smith County, Texas, United States. [5] As of 2020, the population is 105,995. [3] Tyler was the 38th most populous city in Texas (as well as the most populous in Northeast Texas) and 289th in the United States.
The passenger service ceased in April 1956 and it has been used for different purposes until it was donated to the City of Tyler in 1988. In 2003, following a major renovation the space was shared by the Tyler Transit Department and the museum. Tyler Transit occupies the waiting area and the museum occupies what used to be the baggage storage area.

SH 31 Bus. as East Tyler Street in Athens. SH 31 begins at an interchange with US 84 northeast of Waco. The highway travels through rural areas of McLennan County, passing just north of Axtell. SH 31 intersects FM 939 then enters Hill County. In Hill County, the highway bypasses the towns of Mount Calm and Hubbard.
