The Airport Marina Hotel was an 800-room, first-class hotel located at the 8601 Lincoln Boulevard at the southwest corner of Manchester Avenue, in Westchester, Los Angeles, near Los Angeles International Airport. Its architect was Welton Becket; it was completed in December 1962 and opened in January 1963.
[15] [14] The airport was renamed Los Angeles International Airport in 1949. [17] The temporary terminals remained in place for 15 years but quickly became inadequate, especially as air travel entered the "jet age" and other cities invested in modern facilities. Airport leaders once again convinced voters to back a $59 million bond on June 5, 1956.
The airport is located in Burbank, and serves the heavily populated areas of northern Los Angeles County. It is the closest airport to the central and northeastern parts of L.A. (including Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles), Glendale, Pasadena, the San Fernando Valley, the Santa Clarita Valley, and the western San Gabriel Valley.

The first building, the historic Hangar No. 1, was erected in 1929. In 1930, the facility was renamed Los Angeles Municipal Airport, and mostly served general aviation.
It is located within the campus of the City College of New York (CCNY). Created in 2002 along with Queens High School for the Sciences at York College, and High School of American Studies at Lehman College, [3] HSMSE was founded with an emphasis on engineering and design, and was envisioned as a small school with approximately four hundred ...
Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport in the Van Nuys neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles. The airport is operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a branch of the Los Angeles city government , which also operates Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Some advocates criticized Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) for wishing to preserve parking revenues. [9] When the C Line opened in 1995, the closest station to the airport was 2.4 miles (3.9 km) away at Aviation/LAX station, where a free LAX Shuttle was provided. [10]
