McLean Quiz Bowl won the Class 6 VHSL State Championship in 2020 [16] and 2024 [17] and has finished as State Runners-Up in 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2023. The Cumberland District is a high school conference of the Virginia High School League which draws its members from the western part of Southwest Virginia. The schools in the Cumberland District compete in Region 1D with the schools of the Black Diamond District and the Hogoheegee District.
