The New Brunswick Botanical Garden is a provincial park located in suburban Saint-Jacques neighbourhood in Edmundston, New Brunswick.Situated on 7 hectares (17 acres) next to the Madawaska River, it has more than 80,000 plants, making it the largest arboretum east of Montreal.
The garden was founded in 1901 by Mauritian agronomist Paul Evenor Rivalz Dupont, [1] who served as the Director of Agricultural Services and Naturalist of Seychelles, with the aim of creating an agricultural station.
The Paris Zoological Park was created in 1934 in the Bois de Vincennes, as space in menagerie of the Jardin des Plantes became scarce. It is administered, like the Jardin des Plantes, by the Museum of Natural History. New environments were created there for the larger mammals, including the giraffes, elephants, and hippopotamus.
