Lake Purrumbete is a maar located east of Camperdown in the state of Victoria in Australia. The maar is located in a volcanic landscape, which geologists call Newer Volcanics Province . The lake is a 45 m (148 ft) deep maar with a diameter of 2.5 km (1.6 mi).
The 2,390-hectare (5,900-acre) [2] park is set on the east shore of the Gippsland Lakes, fringed by the waters of Lake Victoria and Lake Reeve. [3] The park includes Sperm Whale Head peninsula and Rotamah and Little Rotamah Islands. The park is managed by Parks Victoria jointly with the traditional owners, the Gunaikurnai. [4]
