The States of North Brabant (Staten van Noord-Brabant) have 55 seats and are headed by the King's Commissioner (Commissaris van de Koning), currently Ina Adema. Whereas the provincial council (the States-Provincial - Provinciale Staten) is elected by the inhabitants, the Commissioner is appointed by the King and the cabinet of the Netherlands.

Geldrop-Mierlo (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɣɛldrɔp ˈmiːrloː] ⓘ) is a municipality in southern Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant. The municipality was created by the merger of the two former municipalities of Geldrop and Mierlo on 1 January 2004.
