West Virginia consists of a mostly rural region, although its few relatively urban centers are prominent spots of musical innovation. The Capitol Music Hall , in Wheeling , is the oldest performing place of its kind in the state, and has hosted a wide variety of acts, from national tours to the local Wheeling Symphony Orchestra .
Larry Eugene Sparks, (born September 25, 1947) is an American Bluegrass singer and guitarist.He was the winner of the 2004 and 2005 International Bluegrass Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year Award. 2005, won IBMA for Album of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year for his album "40," celebrating his 40th year(2003) in bluegrass music.
It was The Bailey Brothers who brought their tight, close harmony style singing into bluegrass and merged the two forms. With the addition of their Happy Valley Boys, The Bailey Brothers were the first well-known brother duet to introduce the beautiful harmonies characteristic of early brother duets into the full bluegrass group.
Today she is a respected bluegrass musician, playing both straight-ahead bluegrass and more progressive forms of music. She has worked with legends such as Mac Wiseman , Kenny Baker, Josh Graves, and Eddie & Martha Adcock to current artists such as Peter Rowan , Laurie Lewis , Dudley Connell , and Don Rigsby, and the Brother Boys.
