The predecessor of Tianjin Pipe was founded on 11 December 1987 (as Chinese: 天津无缝钢管总厂; lit. 'Tianjin Stemless Steel Pipe "Head" Factory'); it was one of the project in the Eighth Five-Year Plan of China.
