Culebra barrio-pueblo or Culebra Pueblo (English: Culebra Town, historically: Dewey) is a barrio and the administrative center of Culebra, an island-municipality of Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 462.

Although the barrio-pueblo of Culebra is known as Culebra (Pueblo de Culebra) today, its former name used to be Dewey, [12] while the name of the barrio-pueblo of Vieques today remains Isabel II. [13] Both of these are also the main settlements of the islands they are located in.
The word pueblo is the Spanish word both for "town" or "village" and for "people". It comes from the Latin root word populus meaning "people". Spanish colonials applied the term to their own civic settlements, but to only those Native American settlements having fixed locations and permanent buildings.

The Culebra National Wildlife Refuge (Spanish: Refugio nacional de vida silvestre de Culebra) is a National Wildlife Refuge in Puerto Rico. It is part of the Caribbean Islands National Wildlife Refuge Complex, which is a unit of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is the site of the former Camp Roosevelt. [2]
