The Fort Worth Brahmas were a professional ice hockey team in the Central Hockey League, and previously the Western Professional Hockey League. The team originally played at the Fort Worth Convention Center but played their final six seasons, including their 2008–09 Championship season at the NYTEX Sports Centre .
The Brahmas nickname is a tribute to the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League, which played their final six seasons (most notably winning the 2009 Ray Miron President's Cup championship) at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The Brahmas most recently won the 2024 Robertson Cup.

Chad Woollard (born September 18, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey Winger who last played for the Fort Worth Brahmas in the Central Hockey League (CHL). He previously played in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Utah Grizzlies, St. John's Maple Leafs and the San Antonio Rampage.
Due to off ice financial troubles Greenhous' contract was not renewed and he chose to again return to North America, this time with the Fort Worth Brahmas, again of the CHL. Again Greenhous returned to the U.K. mid-season, and was signed by the Manchester Phoenix along with Brahmas teammate Chad Brandimore. [1]
During the 1990s, the building was home to the Fort Worth Fire and Fort Worth Brahmas ice hockey teams, as well as the Arena Football League's Fort Worth Cavalry. From 2005 to 2007, it was home to the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League. In 2020, it hosted the home games for the North Texas Bulls out of the American Arena League.
