Booker Taliaferro McDaniel (September 13, 1913 – December 12, 1974) was an American baseball pitcher in the Negro leagues. He played from 1940 to 1946, and again in 1949 with the Kansas City Monarchs. He also played for the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League in 1949 and 1950. McDaniel died of throat cancer. Kennett is a city in and the county seat of Dunklin County, Missouri, United States. The city is located in the southeast corner (or " Bootheel ") of Missouri, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Arkansas and 20 miles (32 km) from the Mississippi River .
The land comprising Dunklin County was previously inhabited by the Delaware Tribe of Indians, who had lived in the area since the early 1800s. [3] The county was officially organized on February 14, 1845, [4] and named in honor of Daniel Dunklin, [5] a Governor of Missouri who died the year before the county was organized.
