That, and being born in a family of engineers, influenced his decision to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 1986.
On his return to India in 2004, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT) as an assistant professor; he became an associate professor in 2009.
