Redesignated 3 April 1972 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 11th Transportation Battalion, and activated at Fort Eustis, Virginia; The 11th Transportation Battalion was originally constituted on 1 May 1936 in the Regular Army as the 396th Quartermaster Battalion (Port).
