Interlake was a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 1979, and has formally existed since the 1981 provincial election . Previously, much of the Interlake region was included in the constituency of St. George .
The riding is located generally between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Winnipegosis and includes the northern suburbs of Winnipeg and the City of Selkirk, Manitoba. In addition to Selkirk, the riding includes the communities of St. Andrews, St. Clements, Rockwood, Woodlands, Brokenhead, Stonewall, R.M. of Gimli, and the R.M. of Bifrost.
The current-day Interlake-Gimli constituency is the successor to the former riding of Interlake, which had been in effect since 1981. [2] [3]Following the 2018 riding redistribution, its boundary expanded to include the now-defunct riding of Gimli (with the communities of Gimli, Winnipeg Beach, and Riverton), thereby changing its name from "Interlake" to "Interlake-Gimli".
