The Basilica of Saint-Denis (French: Basilique royale de Saint-Denis, now formally known as the Basilique-cathédrale de Saint-Denis[ 1 ]) is a large former medieval abbey church and present cathedral in the commune of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris.
The basilica complex also includes a garden for meditation, with a fountain. The top of the dome is open to tourists and affords a spectacular panoramic view of the city of Paris, which spreads out to the south of the basilica. The use of cameras and video recorders is forbidden inside the basilica.
