The English Football League Two, simply known as League Two and for sponsorship purposes as Sky Bet League Two, is a professional football league in England. EFL Two is the third division of the English Football League (EFL) and fourth-highest tier overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League, EFL Championship and the EFL League One and is contested by 24 clubs.
The 2024–25 EFL League Two (referred to as the Sky Bet League Two for sponsorship purposes) is the 21st season of the EFL League Two under its current title and the 33rd season under its current league division format. The season commenced on 9 August 2024.

In May 2014 The FA announced provisional plans for a new division between the English Football League and the National League which would include "B" teams of higher-level clubs. They later reneged on the plan to include Premier League "B" teams in the new division [ 2 ] and shortly thereafter scrapped the idea altogether.

In 1993, the Premier League was formed, [20] a move which caused the fourth-tier league to be renamed as the Third Division. [21] In 2004, the Third Division was re-branded as Football League Two, [22] before the League's adoption of English Football League (EFL) led to a 2016 renaming as the EFL League Two. [23]
