North Hollywood is a neighbourhood and district of the greater Hollywood neighborhood, located in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. The neighborhood contains the NoHo Arts District , El Portal Theater , several art galleries, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences .
Houses along Valley Village's lushly landscaped, graffiti-free streets cost up to $800,000, and a two-bedroom, two-bath entry-level house will run $300,000, residents say. Elsewhere in North Hollywood, that same size entry-level house can be purchased for as little as $150,000, real estate agents say.

Lankershim Boulevard was named after Isaac Lankershim, one of the area's founding families, and is one of the oldest streets in what is now North Hollywood. The boulevard was a major thoroughfare for the town of Toluca (which was renamed Lankershim in 1896 and North Hollywood in 1927), connecting it to Los Angeles by way of the Cahuenga Pass.
