Dwarka District Court (South West Delhi) is one of the seven District Courts in the National Capital Territory of Delhi that function under the Delhi High Court. [1] The Dwarka District Courts Complex is situated at Sector- 10, Dwarka, New Delhi Near by Dwarka Sector 10 Metro Station.
The above are seven physical locations of the district courts, whereas actually there are eleven district courts headed by individual District Judges. The Tis Hazari complex, Rohini complex and Saket complex hosts two districts each while the Karkardooma complex hosts three districts and the remaining complexes host one district court each.
The Federal Court came into being on 1 October 1937. The seat of the court was the Chamber of Princes in the Parliament building in Delhi. It began with a Chief Justice and two puisne judges. The first Chief Justice was Sir Maurice Gwyer and the other two judges were Sir Shah Muhammad Sulaiman and M. R. Jayakar.
