The Northern Oregon Coast Range is the northern section of the Oregon Coast Range, in the Pacific Coast Ranges physiographic region, located in the northwest portion of the state of Oregon, United States. This section of the mountain range, part of the Pacific Coast Ranges, contains peaks as high as 3,710 feet (1,131 m) for Rogers Peak. [1]
The Oregon Coast Range is divided into three separate sections: North, Central, and South. In the south is the oldest portion of the range with formation beginning in the Paleocene era with the Roseburg volcanics, while the newest section is the northernmost portion formed first with the Siletz River Volcanics. The ecoregion has an area of 105,520 square kilometres (40,740 sq mi). 55% of the ecoregion is in Oregon, and the remaining 45% in California. [2] The ecoregion is generally west of the crest of the Oregon Coast Range and northern California Coast Ranges.
The level III ecoregions in Oregon are the Coast Range (1), Willamette Valley (3), Cascades (4), Eastern Cascades Slopes and Foothills (9), Columbia Plateau (10), Blue Mountains (11), Snake River Plain (12), Klamath Mountains (78), and Northern Basin and Range (80).
