The Southwest International League was a minor league baseball league that operated from 1951 through 1952. The league was formed through the merger of the Sunset League and Arizona–Texas League in 1951. The league hosted franchises based in Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas.

The Southwest Conference baseball tournament was the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I Southwest Conference from 1977 through 1996. The winner of the tournament received an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship .

The 1986 Southwest Conference baseball tournament was the league's annual postseason tournament used to determine the Southwest Conference's (SWC) automatic bid to the 1986 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The tournament was held from May 16 through 19 at Olsen Field on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
