James Esdras Faust (July 31, 1920 – August 10, 2007) was an American religious leader, lawyer, and politician. [1] Faust was Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1995 until his death, an LDS Church apostle for 29 years, and a general authority of the church for 35 years.
The Wilshire Ward Chapel, formerly known as the Hollywood Stake Tabernacle, is a meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles, California. The building is listed as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and on the Mormon Historic Sites Foundation registry.

The most notable use for meetinghouses is the weekly worship service known as sacrament meeting.Every Sunday, members of the LDS Church meet to partake of the sacrament (equivalent to eucharist or communion in other Christian services), listen to sermons by members of the congregation, sing congregational hymns, and hear announcements for upcoming events.
The LDS Church has 367 temples in various phases, which includes 202 dedicated temples (193 operating and 9 others undergoing renovations [11]), 4 with a dedication scheduled, 48 under construction, 3 with groundbreakings scheduled, [12] and 110 others announced (not yet under construction). [13]

The Church wanted the structure to keep its original exterior appearance. The day the chapel was dedicated, June 14, was the eighty-first anniversary of the day that the first Mormon missionaries arrived in Denmark. During World War II the chapel was used as a bomb shelter, but the building survived the war with little damage.
