The Foxfield Races are a set of steeplechase races that originated in 1978 and are held twice annually in Albemarle County, Virginia, approximately eight miles northwest of downtown Charlottesville. It is a popular tradition for much of the community as well as students of the University of Virginia and other universities on the East Coast.

Median age for the district is 39.7 years. 65.5% of the district is Non-Hispanic White, 18.4% Black, 5.1% Asian, 0.3% Native American or Alaskan, and 3.4% some other race with 7.3% Hispanic or Latino.
The district contains Bowling Green, Culpeper, the city of Fredericksburg, Stafford, Stanardsville, Woodbridge, and a small sliver of Albemarle County. The incumbent is Democrat Abigail Spanberger, who was re-elected with 52.33% of the vote in 2022. [2] Spanberger will not seek re-election, but will instead run for governor in 2025. [103]
The district's boundaries changed on April 29, 2011 to adjust for population changes measured by the 2010 U.S. Census of Population, so that each district would have about 80,000 residents.
