Angie Dodge was murdered in Idaho Falls in 1996. She was stabbed and raped. She was 18 years old. About a year after she was murdered, Christopher Tapp was arrested and charged with her murder, as he confessed to being involved in the crime. Tapp would go on to recant his story, but he was found guilty and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
I was watching the recent Dateline episode about the Angie Dodge murder. The man (Chris Tapp) originally convicted of her murder later agreed to a plea deal in order to be released on "time served". But what completely shocked me was that he was later exonerated.
He didn't even correctly supply the first name of the "friend" who killed Angie while he held her down. If they want to convict this guy, they're going to have to admit they were wrong. There's no other way. Chris has maintained his innocence all along, but they made him cop to something to let him go with time served.
