Anjan Dutt (born 19 January 1953) is an Indian film director, actor, and singer-songwriter known for his work in the Bengali alternative music genre anyodharar gaan. As an actor, Dutta began his career in Bengali cinema in the Mrinal Sen film Chaalchitra , for which he won the best newcomer actor award at the Venice Film Festival .

Shah Jahan Regency is an Indian Bengali drama film directed by Srijit Mukherji, [1] under the banner of SVF Entertainment Pvt Ltd, starring Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Anirban Bhattacharya, Swastika Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh and Rittika Sen while Rituparna Sengupta and Babul Supriyo appear in Guest appearances. Director Anjan Dutt said in an interview that the film was an attempt to "look into my legacy of Bangla cinema, my literature, and tap the mainstream". [1] Dutt collaborated on the music with his son, Neel Dutt, who composed the music to his father's lyrics. The two had previously worked together on a film 11 years earlier.

Anjan Dutt asks Ranjana (Parno Mittra) to come and meet him in Kolkata and promises to help her in recording her solo. Once in Kolkata, Ranjana stays at Anjan's house with him and his housekeeper, Kanchan Mullick. One night Anjan tries to seduce Ranjana but, due to too much drinking, he faints allowing Ranjana to run. But she stays and nurses him.
His parents are Anjan Dutt [1] and Chanda Dutt. [2] Anjan, an actor and filmmaker, is also a prolific musician from the 1990s scene of modern Bengali music. Chanda is a retired English teacher at St. Augustine's Day School, Kolkata. As an infant, Dutt's first school was Mr. Pires Private School.
