Adrienne Eadie Adams (born December 9, 1960) is an American politician serving as Speaker of the New York City Council since 2022. A Democrat, Adams represents the 28th district, and is the first woman elected to the district. [1] Adams was first elected to the City Council in 2017, to complete the term of her expelled predecessor, Ruben Wills. [2]
