William K. Prudden was born in 1859, attended Michigan State Agricultural College, and lived for several years in Indianapolis and Chicago.He worked as a real estate broker, and was also part owner of the Lansing Wheel Company, which provided wheels for carriages and wagons.
Albert E. Sleeper was born in Vermont in 1862. He moved to Lexington, Michigan in 1884, and in 1904 relocated to Bad Axe. Sleeper served as a state senator from 1901 to 1904, as state treasurer from 1908 to 1912, and as governor from 1917 to 1920. [2]
