The Yoga Alliance is a U.S.-based nonprofit membership trade and professional organization for yoga teachers, headquartered in Arlington Virginia.The organization created the title of Registered Yoga Teacher in the United States to refer to teachers who have finished a yoga teacher training through a school registered with the Yoga Alliance.
We do not provide yoga teacher trainees with certificates, the schools that are registered with Yoga Alliance do. We refer to our designations as credentials not certifications. In order to register with Yoga Alliance you will need to have completed a teacher training program of 200-hours or 500-hours and provide a certificate of completition.
