He was Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi from 2000 to 2002. Much of his career was in the United States where he last served at the University of St. Thomas (in Houston, TX). He served as the dean of Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas, and also held the Cullen Endowed Chair in Economics.
Ishrat Husain was born 1941 in Agra, British India.Husain's family relocated from Agra to Karachi in 1947 due to the partition of British India. [4] He completed his early education in Karachi and later studied at the Government College Hyderabad. [4]
