Changing back to the entire email address and reentering my password allowed Tbird to login and try to down load messages. Frontier setting are what I have now and I would have thought that the Frontier tech would have spotted an obvious mistake. Greg

I contacted Frontier support to verify the correct settings. They are as follow: POP3: pop3.frontier.com, SSL/TLS, Port 995 SMTP: smtp.frontier.com, SSL/TLS, Port 465 I'm using full email address for the user name. He double-checked the password on the POP3 server, and it's correct. I also disabled my firewall, but it didn't help.
Chosen Solution. If you use a POP account it will use 'Authentication Method: Normal Password'. OR if you use an Imap account that uses 'Authentication Method: Normal Password'.
