Virginia Dale is a tiny unincorporated community located in northwestern Larimer County, Colorado, United States. Virginia Dale is situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on U.S. Highway 287 , approximately 45 mi (72 km) northwest of Ft. Collins and approximately 4 mi (6 km) south of the Wyoming border.
In 1881, Ohio City was surveyed and platted. The following year, the Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad was built through the town. After the collapse of the silver market in 1893 the community dwindled in population, [4] and by 1898, Ohio City was nearly deserted. [5]
