Again, there are exceptions but in general, Ruger Mod 77s are not match grade accurate and don't need to be for hunting. Matching bullet weight to twist rate and velocity makes for the optimum accuracy, even more so at long ranges. Your 7mm Mag rifle has a 1:9.5 twist rate and favors the 175 grain bullets.

Rifle currently has a Timney trigger and Limb Saver recoil pad but I have the original trigger and pad as well (shown below). I am thinking about possibly selling it but am wondering what the rough value is of it.

The Zytel stock Mark IIs have become collectible. My RENE guide lists your rifle as a model KM-77RP Model # 7805. It should fall within the serial number range of: 780-36864 to 787-84192. There is a note stating: "KM-77 RP MKII with green forearm and grip inserts.
The original M77 is a push feed having a non rotating extractor and plunger type ejector and a tang mounted safety. The trigger is generally good.

It seemed like a no brainer of a deal, and now, after 18 yrs, once again have an astounding Ruger M77! I took it to the range, after putting a scope I already had on it, and bore sighted it myself.

But like cptpoly said this is the russian round and not good for 500 yards. I think the Western Auto Revelation 308 is my style and fit. Well if anyone knows of someone looking for a Ruger M77 Mark II in Stainless my friend has one for sale. For $1,100 you get the rifle and 1000 rounds. Thanks again for all the help.
With the .25-'06 chamberings in M77R's and at least early production M77MkII's, the exterior barrel profile is the same as that of their .338 Win Mag versions. That, coupled with a .257" bore, makes for a pretty stiff "sporter" barrel, compared to what it would be if the exterior dimensions were the same as for the .270 / .30-'06 versions.
