Hotel Storchen, in Zürich, is one of the oldest hotels in Switzerland, dating to 1357. [1] [2] It is first written about using the name "Haus zum Storchen" in the city tax archives. [3] Its name in English means Hotel Stork. The hotel offers attractive views, including from Wühre, which runs south along the river from this point.

At the same time the line was extended at its upper end to directly serve the Dolder Grand Hotel, thus replacing the bus that had in turn replaced the tram. The new line opened in 1973, and in 1999 the Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich took over operation of the line. In 2004, the line was completely renovated along with the four stations and two railcars.
The station is an interchange point between the Zurich S-Bahn and the Stadtbahn Glattal light rail system. It is served by Zürich tram route 12, operating on behalf of the Stadtbahn Glattal, and by S-Bahn lines S8, S14 and S19. [2] [4] On weekends, there is also a nighttime S-Bahn services (SN8) offered by ZVV. [5]
The station is situated on the airport railway line between Oerlikon and Effretikon, which forms one variant of the Zurich to Winterthur main line. The station, which is entirely underground, has two island platforms serving four tracks, each with a length of 400 metres (1,300 ft).
