Figures from the D&D Miniatures line have been used in other games from Wizards of the Coast, including the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game, Heroscape [17] and the Dungeons & Dragons board games Castle Ravenloft, [18] Wrath of Ashardalon and The Legend of Drizzt. Wizards of the Coast discontinued the production of D&D Miniatures in 2011.
In the fall of 1981 Grenadier Models had begun to refer to itself as "Your D. & D. Figure Company" and began a newsletter The Grenadier Bulletin to advertise its status as the official producer of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures, and of miniatures for TSR, Inc.'s Gamma World role-playing game. Even as TSR published the first version of Dungeons & Dragons in 1974, several companies were already making fantasy-themed miniatures, notably Der Kriegspielers Fantastiques, which had just produced a line of miniatures based on J.R.R.
