The 2024 Indian Wells Open was a professional men's and women's tennis tournament played in Indian Wells, California. It was the 50th edition of the men's event and 35th of the women's event and was classified as an ATP Tour Masters 1000 event on the 2024 ATP Tour and a WTA 1000 event on the 2024 WTA Tour.
Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It was her eighth WTA 1000 and 19th career WTA Tour title, and she did not lose a set en route.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz [1] defeated Daniil Medvedev in a rematch of the previous year's final, 7–6 (7–5), 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. [2] It was his fifth ATP Masters 1000 and 13th career ATP Tour title.
Indian Wells lies in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area), about 125 miles (201 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. [ 3 ] The tournament is played in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden (built in 2000) which has 29 tennis courts, including the 16,100-seat main stadium, which is the second largest tennis-specific stadium in the world. The California tennis tournament, called the "fifth Grand Slam," begins this week in Palm Springs.
