Jacob Thomas (born 15 May 1960) is a retired Indian Police Service officer, writer and researcher. He is popularly known as former Director of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB), Government of Kerala, [1] and a recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service as well as the Newsmaker of the Year Award of Malayala Manorama.

V. Joseph Thomas was born to V. J. Joseph, Vattavayalil House and Aleykutty Joseph, Pamblani House at Palai in Kottayam District, Kerala. He married Mariamma Thomas and had one daughter. He retired from the police force in November 2001 and lived in Cochin, Kerala. He served as a patron at several organisations.
He represented Kerala in the Santosh Trophy tournament eight times. He has also played in many national and international tournaments. He served as Commandant in Kerala Police Academy (KEPA), Thrissur. He was conferred the President's police medal in 2020. He retired from Kerala Police on 31 May 2021. [2]
