Clos du Val is a winery located in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, California. Founded in 1972, it earned global recognition in 1976 with its involvement in the famed Judgement of Paris in 1976. [1] Clos du Val is French for “small vineyard estate of a small valley."
Around the 1880s, San Francisco wine dealers were purchasing wine from Napa Valley vintners at low prices (sometimes around 15 to 18 cents per gallon).
