I have a Ford Focus 2015 (204,000 km) with a transmission slipping. I went to the garage and adviced that we should change the transmission fluid first, after changing it. The slipping was gone but after a few days, i found that my car was not reversing and the slipping was there again PLUS the check engine light on is on my dashboard.

meatloaf_8462. • 1 yr. ago. I did some reasearch on transmission prices for your car and it looks like you could probably do it for cheaper if you replace it with a used transmission. I had mine replaced for $2200 on my 09 focus. It looks like it would probably be around 2500-3000 with labor for you considering it’s a newer car and more ...

Same here, 2014 SE 5MT with 174k on the original clutch. It helps to know how to drive stick; a lot of people THINK they know how to properly do it, but end up riding the clutch, don’t fully disengage it when shifting, yank the transmission out of gear without using the clutch, etc. and they get the bare minimum of life out of them.

  11. cost to replace/repair auto trans? : r/FordFocus - Reddit

It could just be the tcm, these go bad quite often, also. This would be quite a bit cheaper than a trans rebuild. I paid 3000 last year for a new transmission with a third party mechanic. Ford quoted me 5.2k. I just did a quick search and it seems as though a branded title is a salvage title.
