Our History. In 1875, John deBaptist Kramer established Alexandria’s first funeral home. It was known as “John Kramer, Undertaker” and was located on Fourth Street between Scott and Elliott streets in downtown Alexandria.

Nancy Normand Cazes, 75, of Alexandria, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vance Joseph Normand Sr. and Meredith Marcotte Normand, both of Marksville, Louisiana.

Joseph Herman Baker, Jr., son of Joseph H. Baker, Sr. and Grace Causey Baker of Forest Hill, LA, died at his home in Alexandria, LA on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Joe is preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his parents; his brother Glen Ray Baker; and two daughters-in-law, Kathryn and Suzanne.
